    1. As the mother of two sons, I have to second that Amen!

  4. As someone who DID get pregnant way too young, I can't think of better advice. Of course, I was too mule-headed at the time to listen to anyone's advice anyway.....

    1. Hey CG - What can I say? Teens are mule-headed! :-)

  5. Great idea. I would much rather have my daugher watch a show about going to college and being successful than being 16 and pregnant. That show does nothing to convince girls to not have babies. I am not saying that it convinces them to, it just isn't bad enough to convince them to wait.
Looked back at your other posts. I can tell that we will be friends. Love crazy people with a sense of humor.

    1. Thanks Blondie! I enjoy your blog also. I am definitely crazy and do have a sense of humor (warped sometimes but there). LOL

      Come back anytime.

  6. Ugh, I have several daughters, and #3 loved watching that show, so I watched the first season and part of the next with her. Strange show. I agree there are many better concepts for a teen show than that - it really doesn't show the reality of being pregnant and raising a baby - at any age.

Hey, I actually used to resemble that poster gal, until I started looking old...er! My ages were a bit different tho: 17& grad, 19&pg, and Always Successful! ;-)

    1. Hey Always Successful Irishey! You are so right. Part of the problem with these reality shows is that they film 24/7 and only edit in what they feels makes "good" TV - screaming at parents, boyfriends, etc. Partying and hanging out at "their" house with their friends. Not reality and not good role models.

Darn good looking woman are ya? Well of course you are.

    2. Lol! I think we're all good looking, no matter what we look like on the outside, if we look good on the inside. I'm just a comfortable-looking mom and grandma now. I don't miss dressing in business uniform every day. Retirement suits me better than a suit. Ba-dum-bum! ;-)

Some day, those people posting hurtful garbage might grow up, like so many of us formerly immature girls have done, and realize how stupid it's possible to be. I wonder how they'll feel about the new crop of younger, vicious know-it-alls who try to demoralize and ridicule them for the choices they made on their own journeys to better themselves?

I like the way you think, Cat. I'm also glad you're able to work from home. I'm going to be moving in that direction, if I can find something that appeals to me. I love having time to read, cook, clean, putter around, run errands at my leisure, go visiting in blog land... ;-) But, I need to feel more challenged and productive after a lifetime of working.

I'm researching starting a home business versus finding work-at-home jobs. What a circus of odd "opportunities!!!" out there! I'm fortunate in that I don't have to work any more just to survive, so I can take my time and be selective. I need something that challenges me, and that gives value to others, something substantive. Of course, it would be great if it was creative and fun, too! Not asking much, huh?

    3. Not asking much at all Irishey! Wish I didn't have to work anymore to survive - would be lovely. I'm just lucky my company lets a lot of us work virtually.
