Praline Cookies
Yield Makes about 2 dozen
Ingredients
- 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350°
- In a large bowl, whip the butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy
- Blend in egg
- Add the vanilla extract and beat well
- Mix in flour
- Drop by tablespoon onto parchment lined cookie sheet
- Bake for 13 to 15 minutes
- Cool on baking sheet for 1 minute; then remove cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
- To soften the butter:
- Sit at room temperature for a few hours
- Place in microwave for 10 to 20 seconds (DO NOT MELT)
- Shred cold stick with cheese shredder
