Your Forever Partner

Received the article below and what really stood out for me was how these are the same qualities for the different relationships that we discuss here in blogland...whether it is DD or D/s or M/s or a combination.  What do you think?

5 Things a Person Does That Certify Them as Your Forever Partner

It’s OK to date for a while and to make mistakes — we all do it. It takes time to get to know yourself and what you want/need out of a partner. So, don’t feel bad if it’s taken you awhile to get to a point that you feel like you’re finally ready for a “forever partner.”

Most of us have some romantic regrets, and we cringe when we look back on some ridiculous dating situations we put up with in the past. However, now it’s time to turn over a new leaf and see positive signs in future partners that could signal someone who’s ready to be with you forever.

They’re Consistently Positive
When looking for your forever person, it’s imperative that you find someone who makes you feel good about yourself. It’s emotionally exhausting to be around someone who puts you down instead of lifting you up. You want to be around a person that wants to have a good time and cherishes the time they get to spend with you, which means they’re regularly positive and ready to create happy memories with you. They support your ideas and are ready to try new things with you; they don’t shut you down and suck the fun out of every activity. You should be looking forward to spending time with them and hearing what they have to say.

They’re Dependable
My definition of a partner is someone who picks up the slack when you really need it, and you do the same for them. A person who’s ready to be with you forever is a dependable person. You shouldn’t have to stress if they’ll be present for you when it really counts.

All of us have days where we just can’t do it all ourselves and we really need someone to step up and help out when it truly matters. You know that they’ll have your back if anything goes wrong, or they’ll simply be there for moral support during an important time. That’s what it means to be dependable.

They Want to Improve & Make the Relationship Stronger
Everyone gets in fights, but someone who’s committing to being your forever partner wants to make up quickly. Couples who are ready to stay together forever don’t like hurting each other’s feelings, and your partner cares so much about you that they don’t hold unnecessary grudges. When the two of you fight, it’s always with the purpose of achieving a better relationship.

You’re fighting for your love and ways that you can improve it for the long haul. In addition, they want to be a better person when they’re around you. This doesn’t mean that they were a “bad” person to start, it just means that the two of you offer inspiration to each other. You make each other want to be the best version of yourselves.

They’re Open & Honest With You
You shouldn’t have to guess what’s wrong with your partner. Someone who wants to make your relationship easy on the both of you will tell you and be ready to work through issues like an adult. As such, they do their best to tell you what they’re thinking, and they don’t hide information from you. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can’t have any privacy between the two of you; it just means that you never hold back information that might hurt your relationship.

In fact, you shouldn’t be worried that your partner is going to intentionally do anything that would hurt you — period. This person shares their thoughts and plans with you and is dedicated to a lifetime of happiness with you.

They Have Goals & Aspirations
Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly important to put a lot of time and effort into your relationship, but it’s equally important to have your own individual goals and aspirations. A person that has interests, hobbies, and life goals is a person that is devoted to their own self-improvement.

The two of you will grow together and change, which is normal and healthy for long-lasting relationships. Your romance will evolve over time as your goals change, but you’ll continue to inspire each other and do what you can to help each other become successful in your dreams.

You can see that simple traits and moral behaviors are the building blocks to any long-lasting relationship. Honesty, aspirations, dependability, positivity, and a willingness to improve are such key components to couples that wish to last for years to come. If you’re looking for your forever partner, keep your eyes peeled for these traits and you’re sure to meet the right person for you.
