  1. Wow Cat, I can't believe these prices. I love that second house but where's the bathroom? Lisa

    1. LOL Lisa...not all houses came with a bathroom...they built an outhouse in the back and had set up a tub for bathing in the kitchen. The first house has a bathroom on the second floor.

  2. Cat,
These days represent the days when women were spanked and had no way to communicate with one another afterwards. I love the prices, but not the fashions. Great post.

    1. LOL Meredith...they had a way to communicate with their friends and family who were close by. I like some of the fashions. ;)

    1. I'm not sure how they worked River but so happy I don't have to use one. :) These are good prices on everything aren't they.

  4. Yikes! Both must sign?
Lol I guess that all the quirky ways you can combine cash and credit are meant to hide what one spends! Same reason.... Handled more deceptively!

  5. I think Google is playing me up as I left a comment but didn't appear.

The price of the chicks made me smile and same as Lisa - where's the bathroom. Thanks for sharing Cat.

    1. Sorry about that Ronnie...there are days Google just pure D sucks. :( The prices are something aren't they. As I told Lisa, many homes were built without bathrooms...the outhouse was built in the backyard and either a tub was installed in the corner of the kitchen or people had a small tub...either way, they were filled with water heated on the stove. Notice that the first house did have a bathroom on the second floor. ;)

  7. Fun to read, Cat!! :). Loved the variety and the prices. Bras for 25 cents even.

I'm thinking that I'd get myself into a lot less trouble if that bottom line made it's way onto a thing or two around here. Lol! Interesting but not surprised that it was part of a catalog back then. Many hugs,

    1. Happy you enjoyed it Katie...I think many couples would have a lot less trouble if that bottom line was part of their bottom line. ;)

  8. The prices look good - what it doesn't tell you is what their salaries were.

Bottom line probably helped save a lot of bottoms. :-)

    1. Hey Sunny...as I told Roz, even though I would have enjoyed the prices, not sure I would have enjoyed the wages.

LOL...I definitely do agree with the bottom line saving a lot of bottoms. ;)

  9. Very interesting glimpse at life 80 years ago. I'm glad we don't have to wear those type undergarments anymore, even if they were mesh, lol! I actually like a few of those shoes though :) Wow to that last line! Things sure have changed drastically since then. Not so sure for the better either! I hope you have a very happy 4th, hugs!

    1. Hey stranger! Oh yes, I sure do agree...very happy we don't have to wear those undergarments anymore. Some of the shoes and clothes are cute. I agree...some changes have been for the better but some haven't. ;) Hope you have a wonderful 4th!
