Spiders

Our friend Irish Lucky over at Loving Me Always wrote about her, her daughter and Alex's encounter with a spider.  I had a collection of pictures that I thought she and of course, Alex (when he gets off the table and finishes washing his hands for the umpteenth time) would appreciate.  On second thought, they might not. LOL

  1. Oh, I really like that last one! I used to be terrified of spiders, but have somewhat outgrown the phobia. I wouldn't say I enjoy them, but they do kill a lot of annoying bugs...

    1. LOL Autumn...The last one is my favorite also. I don't mind spiders outside the house as they do kill quite a few bugs but I don't want any kind of insect inside. ;)

  2. I have one scream for snakes and another for spiders. Dragon knows what he has to kill before he sees it.

  4. I only kill spiders if I have to. And I have to if my girls see one in the house. In our garden I don't. It is their natural habitat not ours. I love the one to leave it dead as a warning to other spiders...
It wouldn't work, spiders eat other dead spiders, it would just mean food for them. besides, my wife would be yelling: Did you throw it away?

    Loved your post, as always,

    1. LOL Han...I don't leave the dead bodies laying about either. If the spiders are outside, they can live, unless they bite me. If they are inside, they are dead! Happy you enjoyed the post. ;)

  5. Your words and first few pics had me giggling. Then I promptly stopped giggling and nearly dropped my tablet. I hate spiders, snakes, rodents, bugs, etc, even if they are behind glass!

I have been known to kill a few, especially for my kids, but we don't have them big enough to wear combat boots!

  7. Oh have mercy... I truly hate spiders. My Gram was terrified. I remember being 5 months pregnant on my hands and knees at her house trying to find the spider she saw and kill it. and there needed to be a dead body as proof...

    1. LOL Minelle...Just remember not to put the peppermint oil on your bum! *snicker* I can just see your Scotsman's reaction to you running naked outside...bet you would have a rosy red bum afterwards. ;)

  10. Spiders are very cool, but they cannot share my house. They drop from the ceiling, or creep up from the floor onto things. I have normal reactions to bits from regular spiders, but I've seen what the Brown Recluse can do. It has a wicked bite. Both my grandmother and daughter were bitten at different times. Still, if I had to choose between having one spider (not Recluse or Black Widow) or one mouse in my house, I would take the spider.

Johnny Depp?! Dang! Nice end to this post, Cat! Lol!

    1. Hey Irishey...have been bitten my a brown recluse and so has my youngest...very painful! I agree...I hate spiders in my house but would take a non-poisonous spider over a rodent any day.

Happy you enjoyed the ending...have you been scared enough to have him appear in your bedroom? ;)

  11. LOL Cat! I'm the resident pest and animal remover at home, at work, and pretty much everywhere I go. A nest of baby copperheads in a classroom. The raccoon in the school office. The monstrous snapping turtle in the neighbor's garage. Black widow in husband's truck. Water moccasins in the boat. Hummingbird in the porch... though that didn't end well and was followed by a hummingbird burial with full funeral rites. I wasn't born with a healthy fear of animals. I've even adopted and trained wild horses. I'm bound to get seriously injured one of these days, but lucky so far!

I'm definitely afraid of Johnny Depp. Absolutely terrified lol

    1. Good gravy Chickie! The black widow, baby copperheads and water moccasins would make me super nervous...especially the blasted snakes! You are much braver than I am.

Terrified of Johnny Depp are ya? Has he shown up in your bedroom yet? ;)

  12. LOL Cat T! :) I was enjoying all of those cute little pics of the mischievous kitties and dogs and then- WHAM! Switch to creepy eight legged creatures and slithery snakes. You did end on a nice note though. No Johnny Depp here but Rob is a wonderful alternative. I'll keep him. ;)

We have learned to "shake our shoes" when we go to visit my folks in the summer. Lots of little spiders around and some not so little. But not HUGE like in some parts. Brown recluse I think is the one to avoid. UGH. I am not a spider fan... Thanks for sharing. I think. LOL! Many hugs,

    1. LOL Katie T...at least you enjoyed most of the pics. Even though you have Rob, you can enjoy the eye candy of Johnny Depp. ;) Yup, brown recluse are vicious little buggers...not a spider fan here either. ;)
