Robin Williams (1951 – 2014)
A very talented man...actor and comedian.
May he now be at peace and without pain.
If you can't view the video, here is the link to it on YouTube
I couldn't upload the following video but it will bring tears to your eyes...it's very short, less than 30 seconds...it is the end of Robin's 2001 appearance on “Inside the Actors Studio.” The host, James Lipton, asks Robin Williams about Heaven.
If anyone reading this is struggling...please reach out.
Oh wow Cat, I am going to go find the whole appearance on "Inside Actor's Studio". I bet that is wonderful! Thank you for posting about depression, several members of my family suffer from this horrible disease. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteWelcome Linda...I totally recommend you watch the entire program...it is great. I am sorry you have family suffering from depression...sending lots of prayers and healing energy for them.

Thanks Cat. Depression is a horrible disease and unless we experience up close and personal, I think we as a society tend to 'pooh pooh' it. I hope anyone who is suffereing will get the help that is available and those living and knowing those affected really listen to them and urge them to seek professional help.
ReplyDeleteRobin Williams was definitely a force of nature.
I agree Sunny...depression is so horrible and totally misunderstood...even by those suffering from it.
DeleteOh yes, Robin Williams was definitely a force of nature...will be sorely missed.

Great post Cat! We are still in the dinosaur ages when it comes to mental illness! I hope that as a society we can begin to learn and properly treat anyone suffering!
ReplyDeleteRobin gave many of us the joy of laughter!
I so agree Minelle...I can only hope and pray that society comes out of the dark ages in treating mental illness.
DeleteOh yes, he gave us the joy of laughter and tears and sometimes really made us stop and think! ;)

Cat. Depression that causes individuals to take their life is such a tragedy. I have been watching Robin Williams since Mork and Mindy and his talent was one of a kind. Thanks for the wonderful post.

Wonderful post, Cat! What a profound loss for Robin's family and for all of us. He really has brought so much joy. I find it so so sad that he was in so much pain himself. Tragic...
ReplyDeleteWe are very up close and personal with depression and addiction these days with our son. I would not be truthful if I didn't say that something like this can, and did rock my world a bit and I reached right out to hear from our son when I first heard about Robin Williams. He is doing well, and we are very much a part of his life even though he is away and recovering. But i had to hear from him in that moment.
In the past few months I have come across some eye opening experiences that show some of the holes in the system. I hope that from this tragedy, awareness will bring about a closer look at these things, and hopefully some changes will be made that will benefit all who experience mental illness and/or addiction.
In the meantime, RIP Robin Williams. I hope that he is up there telling jokes and sitting in the front rows and listening to that music! He was one in a million. Thanks Cat. Beautiful post. Many hugs,
<3 Katie
Oh Katie...I can only begin to guess the fear you had to experience when you heard about Robin. So happy your son is doing well...will continue to pray for him as well as your family.
DeleteI do believe Robin is up there telling jokes, sitting in the front row enjoying so many music legends and visiting with all his friends that went before him.
