French Apple Bread

I apologize for not responding to all the lovely comments y'all have left.  It's been a rough couple weeks and work has been extremely stressful.  I hope to be able to get to them either the end of the week or over the weekend.

Meanwhile, here’s a yummy alternative to Banana bread.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Sift all dry ingredients together and set aside.
  2. Cream butter then beat in sugar.
  3. Add eggs and beat well.
  4. Add vanilla, applesauce, and dry ingredients.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add nuts.
  7. Line loaf pan with parchment paper or grease well.
  8. Pour mixture into loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  9. Cool in pan 5 to 10 minutes on rack.
  10. Turn out onto plate.
  11. Cool 10 – 15 minutes before slicing.

Very easy and extremely yummy!
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask and if you try the recipe, I would love any feedback you would care to give.

Hope you enjoy!

    1. I know Sunny...am trying to chill...haven't killed anyone yet! :D

LOL If things slow down a bit, I'll make some and send it to you. Used to send to my oldest when he was stationed in San Diego. Double wrapped, froze and shipped. Don't know if it was because it was from home or really good but he enjoyed it!
