Important Update Re: Ami and Starman…

To all my fellow bloggers…

As many of you know, Ami and her Starman of Ami's Star Song were to receive the results of his biopsy (you can read her post here).

Unfortunately, it is was not the news we were all hoping/praying for…Starman does have prostate cancer...the good news is that it is in the early stages.

As you can imagine, Ami is worried and emotionally exhausted while Starman is being all HoH’y.  When she is feeling up to it, Ami will be back writing.

I am reaching out to this wonderful community of ours and asking, no matter what your faith, beliefs, or religion, PLEASE send prayers, healing energy, positive thoughts, and warm hugs to both of them.

Thank you my family and friends

PS. I don't feel comfortable giving out Ami's email but you are welcome to leave comments below for her and Starman and I will make sure she sees them. Thanks for understanding.

UPDATE:  Ami has left a message for everyone in the 'Comments' below.

  2. Prayers coming their way. No way they can be anything but freaked out. That's okay for a few days - but I'm betting that early stages and great doctors will give them the exact outcome we're all going to be praying for! Thanks for letting us know.

    Hugs,

  5. I have been thinking about them all day...
Not what we all wanted to hear, but this is positive in that it is in the early stages and will respond well to treatment.
Our prayers and positive thoughts to you both, Ami and Starman ((((((hugs)))))))
Thanks for letting us know, Cat.

  6. I have been thinking about them for days. Like you said not the best news but definitely not the worst. Prostate cancer is treatable especially caught in the early stages. The fact that he is being all HoHy is a good sign.

My prayers and thoughts are with them. Thanks for the info Cat.

  8. They are added to my list of prayers. I had wonderful news of answered prayer from someone whose family member was taken off a vent today. God is still in the business of answering prayers and working miracles (even when things don't look so good). "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen" is what His word says. I will pray for healing, for peace, and that they will be provided with all that they need, while feeling God close by. God bless you and yours, also. - Belle L.

  21. Hello Everyone,

I've just finished reading out you comments to Starman. We are just overwhelmed! I'm getting all weepie just trying to thank you. Yesterday was awful and Starman pulled away, but today we are calmer and have been doing a great deal of talking. We are reconnected thank goodness. Tomorrow I will post explaining all that's going on and the choices we must make. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Friends like you are worth more than diamonds. We both feel very humble.

    Hugs, Ami

  22. Dear Ami and Starman,

I am a lurker since the fall, with much the same path as what is described on your lovely blog, but perhaps a little behind in time from where you are at, and of course each does ttwd in our own way! My kind and gentle husband, of soon to be 25 years this summer has told me that he does not want me to leave comments or blog myself. He has told me that I can read as much as I would like. He's worried about the safety and security issue. I understand! Well, I can't help myself this time. I'm pretty sure that I will not have to worry about a sore bottom. We are not there yet. There have definitely been lots of "uh oh" moments. And there have been plenty of swats! We have never been closer. It has made a huge different in our marriage, as well as family life (we have four good kids who can see a change (if they only knew...:)). I owe a lot of that to the wonderful people like you, who blog and make me think. Thank you!!! But this is not about that.

I have been thinking of you both and praying for you both. I thought of you all day yesterday. It seems so strange to feel as though you know and care about people that you have never met or spoken to. This appears to be an amazing and supportive community. Please let them hold you up and hold you close as you go through this difficult time. I am sorry to hear that your news was not what you were hoping for. I do know quite a number of people who have been through the same and are just fine now. Stay positive and stay strong! (((((HUGS))))). Take good care.

    All the best, Katie

    1. Hello Katie,

With our wonderful Cat's permission I would like to say thank you for your prayers and hugs.

Most of us started just like you - Starman and I are not actually very far along, but we've been given the good advice by more people than I can mention, of taking baby steps. It seems that all those people are right. I want to tell you that my Starman still refuses to read any of the blogs, but it is very important that your husband is aware you are reading them, as you need honesty with each other. Because I am reading all the supportive comments out to Starman as they appear, he is now much less resistant. Hopefully, one day he may even dare to make some comments himself.

You are right, everyone does TTWD in a way to suit them and their marriage. I don't get swats all over the place like some of the others, but we do have a weekly chat and reaffirmation session which we are both finding magical, although some folk prefer not to spank with intensity unless it is for discipline. You must do what you think is best.

Now we have taken in the shock we are trying to get back to normality as much as possible whilst awaiting further results. We are optimistic but scared. But we are scared together and for each other.

I hope you continue to read the wonderful blog posts you will find amongst our little community, and that your journey continues to be a good one.

      Many hugs, Ami
