Swinging!

There's a swing on the edge of a cliff in Ecuador.

It has no safety measures.

It is called the "Swing at the End of the World."

I would try it...would you?

BTW...what kind of swinging were you thinking of?  *snicker*

Happy Update re: Ami and Starman's Grandson!!!

Hey y'all...here is the latest message from Ami!!!!

Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support!  Baby boy has made a rapid turnaround.

He is so much better that he was allowed home this morning!

The infection appears to be cured, and he is now feeding well, is squiggling around, and has cried several times just because he can!

It just goes to show the power of prayer - which is something I have never doubted!

Your prayers have meant a great deal to us all!

Update: Ami and Starman's Grandson

Hey y'all...received an email from Ami and she asked that I deliver the following message to you:

We have just got home from visiting the hospital and then stopping by for some very strong gin and tonics at our friends across the fields!

The baby is very much improved!  He is out of the incubator!  He is feeding well from his mama, and has had all the wires and tubes removed!  He still has a cannula in his right arm in case they have to quickly give him medication, but he looks so much more lively and seems a very different baby from a couple of days, in fact 24 hours ago.

His readings have gone down from 35 to 25 (1-10 is normal and okay.  He started at 11!) and the medical staff are very pleased.  The source of the infection has still not been identified, but if the levels continue to drop, he will be allowed home on Tuesday.

I held him today for the first time, and he pooped after he had been fed and I changed his nappy. I am just so relieved and happy.

It was only driving home that we talked about how shattered we both were.  My shoulders are so tight and ache to blazes.  I didn't realise how worried I was until now.

Tomorrow the day-to-day lab staff return after the weekend, and it will be interesting to see if there are any developments as far as the 'infection' is concerned.  No-one seems any the wiser and they have tested for a great many things.

The main thing is that he is nursing well, he is looking around at the lights and peoples' faces etc, and he is wriggling and stretching his little legs.

I just want to hug you all and cry, because I have felt your support and it has been incredible!
So, once again, thank you so very much!
Ami

I will add my thanks to our wonderful blog land family...y'all are absolutely awesome!  Please keep sending the prayers, healing energy and positive thoughts!

Hugs and Blessings!

Prayers and Healing Energy Needed ASAP!

Okay blog land...we've done it before and now we need to do it again.  Whatever your beliefs...please send prayers, healing energy, positive thoughts...

Ami from the blog Ami's Star Song has a new grandson.  Her daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby boy Thursday.  Everything was fine and then suddenly he had to be taken up to the special baby care unit and put into an incubator.

They think it could be an infection but they haven't been able to determine the "strain" of bacteria causing the infection.  They have now taken two lumbar punctures and not managed to obtain enough spinal fluid to test.

At the moment they are treating him with a broad spectrum antibiotic and they need to narrow it down so that they can use a specific antibiotic.  The doctors have mentioned both sepsis and meningitis to Ami's daughter and son-in-law and they think he was born with it.

As you can imagine, Ami is going through a rough time and her phone and inbox are jammed with messages from her family.   Please feel free to leave messages for her here and she can see them whenever she gets a chance.  I will be traveling as of Monday and not sure if I will have internet access so if you do not see an update here, please check with Minelle over at My Breath...updates will be at one of the two places.

Thank you and  Blessings to all!

Lest We Forget

I shared this last year but thought it was worth re-sharing.

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news on September 11, 2001.

Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say "Good-bye." I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK...I am ready to go."

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. "I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!" I said. "Of course I will show you the way home -- only believe on Me now."

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name -- though not all know Me.

Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; “Come to Me... This way... take My hand."

Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.

But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

September 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end and I will be there for you as well.

Seek Me now while I may be found.

Then, at any moment, you know you are "ready to go."

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

God

During the next 60 seconds, please stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity (really, just 1 minute) to say an "Our Father" for the families of all those who lost their lives and the responders who risked their lives due to the events of September 11, 2001:

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day
Our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Please don't forget to give thanks for your family and friends!
