15 I Bet He's Not Working Pro Bono
How much would it suck to be the public defender assigned to this guy's case? Some people just can't accept help.via http://www.mandatory.com/
14 When You Know You Live in a Small Town
Some towns just don't have enough going on. If this ever is a headline in your local paper, move closer to civilization.via http://www.mandatory.com/
13 That's Unfortunate
The cruel irony of it all was less comical when the two discovered years later that they were actually, well, cousins.via http://www.mandatory.com/
12 And They Arrested Him?
We know they mean the drug crack, but this title is definitely misleading. If this is true the jails are going to fill up pretty quickly.via http://www.mandatory.com/
11 That's a Nicer Way of Saying It
We have never really thought of cows as employees, and that is probably because employees get fired when funds are low, not slaughtered. Slight difference there.via http://www.mandatory.com/
10 Get It?
There is nothing better than a good sexual pun in the paper. The fact that this was a Canadian newspaper makes us sure that they were in no way trying to be funny.via http://www.mandatory.com/
9 That's a Tough Call
Either she is making her husband look more glamorous than he really is in the description or this woman really loves her cat. If this guy sucks as much as cats we don't blame her for this ad.via http://www.mandatory.com/
8 It's Better than an Ipod Shuffle
Headlines like this should be the leading exhibit in the case for increased gun control. Also, that kid's form is garbage someone give him some shooting lessons. via http://www.mandatory.com/7 Who Needs Coaches?
If you ever played an obscure high school sport you totally understand this quote. Nothing screws up a scholarship opportunity like a lazy coach who was too busy downing peanuts to keep stats. We feel you, Hailey.via http://www.mandatory.com/
6 Give Them a Break
I know you want to make fun of this, but they got all of the other words in the title right. That's a hard state to spell, darn it. Baby steps....via http://www.mandatory.com/
5 That'll Show 'Em
Nothing says "I need my damn independence" like cutting off your own manhood. Not sure the future wife will be so impressed though.via http://www.mandatory.com/
4 We Don't Need No Stinkin Doctors
It turns out the cost cutting technique of hiring local garbage men to fill in for overpaid physicians didn't make long term sense. Hey, at least we tried.via http://www.mandatory.com/
3 We Eat Because We Care
This is one of those cruel charity events right? Does anyone have it worse than the hungry? What I wouldn't give for a cupcake right now.via http://www.mandatory.com/
2 Did You Know?
This study was hailed as the most important advancement in modern science since the cure for polio. Who would've thunk it?via http://www.mandatory.com/
1 Rapefruit
Was that grapefruit supposed to look like a G? Honestly, that is the most rapey looking fruit we have ever seen.via http://www.mandatory.com/

#5?! Unreal. All but one of these is somewhere on the ugh spectrum - but the ignorance of the reviewer's caption definitely makes it a fail.
ReplyDeleteHey Irishey...Definitely believe #5 has some severe mental health issues...I agree that the 'reviewer' has some very ignorant captions...just as bad if not worse than the headlines!

I worked in newspapers when I was younger and we had a whole wall full of crazy headlines and typos (from our paper and others). It was there for comic relief and a not so subtle reminder to proofread carefully. Some caused quite a stir at the time they were published.
ReplyDeleteOh Dana...do you still have any? If you do, please share! ;)
