Update on Mom

I want to thank all of you for the prayers, messages, healing energy and lovely thoughts you have sent.  Mom is doing better. Thought I’d give you a quick update on my mom.

She’s gone from this…

To this…

And is now working on graduating to this…

Realistically, we’re probably looking at another 3-5 weeks in rehab but if we are, we could be looking at this!

Of course, there have not been big smiles as you see in the pictures above but she is on her way to recovery and will hopefully be able to live on her own again in the near future.  


Once that happens, if not before, I will probably be checking in to the local funny farm.

Flying

As you may or may not know, in the US, budget cuts have eliminated the military flyovers at large events. 

Well, there's a group of guys in Kansas City who do some formation flying, in their own planes, and decided they'd volunteer to pick up the slack.  They invited a couple of other groups to join them and before they knew it they had 48 guys with their homemade RC airplanes signing up to join in.  If they had more time, they probably would have gotten an even larger group as people kept joining and a 49th was added near the event.  One additional feature of the flyover was the use of pink smoke for cancer awareness.

 The folks from the Guinness Book were there and are expected to confirm it as the largest formation flight ever.  And to top it off the crowd later set the record for the loudest gathering at a football stadium.

Urgent Request and Hallelujah!

Just received a message from our sweet Katie over at This Whole Thing...If you read her post today, she went to visit with her parents for a few days.  

Her dad is in a care home and after her mom left to go home and rest a bit this afternoon, she was in a car accident and has been taken to ICU.  For those of you outside the US, ICU is Intensive Care Unit for the most critically ill/injured patients. 

Katie found out when the police contacted her as she left the care home to go take her to dinner. 

Please send prayers, healing energy, positive thoughts, blessings, whatever you can for Katie's mom. 

Will keep you updated as I receive more information.

Veteran’s Day 2014

My deepest gratitude, respect, and admiration to all who have or are now serving in the Armed Forces and their families.

These men and women are the truest heroes that the world has.



I am very proud to have the liberties that we have today, because of those that have or are now fighting to protect my freedom.

My father and brother both served time as crew on 'Angel Flights' and agreed that this was one of the hardest but most rewarding of all their duties during their military service.

In the following video, a man taught his dog a few hip hop dance moves, and after a little prompting, the dog is able to bust them out just as good as his owner!

Love Song and Blogland Family UPDATE

Katie from This Whole Thing asked me to let you know that she is dealing with a family situation and will not be around blogland very much for a while.  Please know that if she doesn't comment on your blog, it is not because she doesn't care but because she has her hands full dealing with her family issues!

We also have a few of our blog land family that need your prayers, healing energy, positive thoughts, and good wishes.  One whose dad was just rushed to the hospital, one whose mom is in very bad health, one whose husband will undergo surgery soon and who managed to injure herself!  Please keep them all in your hearts.

 This was not what I had scheduled to post today but then my oldest son shared this video on Facebook and I just had to share it with you.
