The title and direction of my post changed immediately!
There he is!
Bas!
Seriously…think about it…
Weren’t Bas’ words always with us?
Did Bas ever judge anyone?
Didn’t Bas give guidance whenever he was online?
Didn’t you feel unconditional love from and for Bas?
Didn’t he support each and every one of us…even if it wasn’t in the way we originally thought he should?
Bas was our Angel...our Miracle!
Now, I’m sure he’s up there shaking his head at us and saying
Sending prayers and healing energy for strength, peace, and comfort to Lisa, Bas’ children and all his family here in blog land.
I’m sure Bas would not want us to forget sweet Emily and Ana’s tiny cousin…please join in sending prayers, healing energy and positive thoughts to both of them as well as their families and caregivers.
Sending healing energy, comforting thoughts, hugs and blessings to all my blog land family!
Very true Cat! He always loved and supported us unconditionally. He had a unique way of pointing out another truth we may not have thought about.
ReplyDeleteThat was our Bas...
We should continue supporting and loving those in our community that need us...prayers and healing continue for Emily and Ana's cousin's wee darlin.
Oh Cat this is absolutely perfect and so true of him. Thank you for sharing this. Bas was such a special friend who touched us all and who will be greatly missed.
ReplyDeletePrayers to Lisa and family and to my blog family that they may find strength, peace and comfort. Sending positive thoughts, prayers and bear hugs to Emily, Jim and Christina and to Ana, her little cousin and family.
Hugs,
Roz
I have been wandering through blogland, leaking tears here and there, heart aching, leave it to you, Cat, I came here and the torrent was unleashed.
ReplyDeleteYour questions? Spot on. He was a calm, gentle voice, giving guidance, even if it was something you didn't necessarily want to hear. He was honest. He was genuine. He was sweet and kind. And he would want each of us to be our very best.
(((hugs)))
Wonderful post, Cat. You captured the essence of a great man, now and forever.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite things Bas said, was on this blog. The post you had about the little girl bringing toilet water to her Dad for a tea party. We all laughed at the 'silliness' of the Dad not realizing. Bas' response, of course he knew, but it was his little girl, and her tea party.
ReplyDeleteThat sums him up right there.
I will never forget that too, Willie.
DeleteHe is our Angel and I'm sure he is protecting little Emily an Ana's cusin from above.
Hugs
Here here Willie, well said. I remember reading that reply from Bas and thinking just wow!
DeleteI remember that story too. Was so beautiful, and made me cry then as well as remembering it now. :) That man had so much love.
DeleteI've loved getting to know Bas more through everyone's amazing tributes - he was pretty special.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts about him too.

ReplyDeleteBas down to a T. Such a kind and caring person. He is one of those people who will always be with us.

Thank you Cat for sharing with us these lovely memories.
