Welcome to my little corner of the world where you never know what you will find! It could be anything from a joke to a funny picture to a personal rant to a favorite recipe to an awesome quote to any random "bright idea" that pops into my mind.

I have only had a push mower. My backyard is so small that anything else would be excessive. And yes, trying to wrap text books in paper. Not going to lie, I was very glad when my house switched to the stretchy fabric ones.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a very small yard, I can see how a small push mower would be more effective, JAS...good exercise also. We had wrapping books in paper bags down to a science at our schools. :)

ReplyDeleteHope it brought back some fun memories, Sunny. :)

Cat and Jack, I loved everyone of these, and I knew everyone of them. Even when our first son was born, I searched everywhere (no internet)to find a car seat that had a little steering wheel and horn. My dad used to cut the seat belts out of a new car. God, we are old.
ReplyDeleteHugs From Ella
Not old, Ella...aged like fine wine...get it straight woman! :) My dad used to cut the seat belts out also and then when they made them so the buzzer wouldn't shut up if someone was sitting on the seat and not buckled up, he latched them and shoved them down into the seat. :)

Guess I am that age group since everything was familiar, except the car straps. I don't remember anything but being without a seat belt to later always wearing a seat belt. These are great.
ReplyDeleteLOL Blondie...we're all getting there. I didn't remember the car straps either at first, think they came around in the mid to late 60s but not sure. :)

Ooh, cursive writing and fried bologna! Good memories. We went one step further and fried Spam. Gotta love mystery meat... LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy to bring good memories, CB. My mom refused to do fried bologna...was a real treat when I visited a friends house where they served a lot of it. My dad did fry Spam for Saturday afternoon lunches. :)

Thankfully I do know a few of these especially the cursive writing that our 4th grade teacher was so adamant in helping me to correct. I do have to say that most of my children would prefer an afternoon looking for snakes and critters in a pond then the computer, as would a good amount of their friends. I'm hoping that means the next generation is not totally lost the ability to think without technology.
ReplyDelete--Baker
Hey Baker...happy your 4th grade teacher helped you with your cursive writing...hope you're children are learning it also. That most of your children and their friends prefer playing outside to electronics is a testament to your good parenting.
