Welcome to my little corner of the world where you never know what you will find! It could be anything from a joke to a funny picture to a personal rant to a favorite recipe to an awesome quote to any random "bright idea" that pops into my mind.

Very interesting Cat. Would be fabulous to also do a comparison with our way of speaking in Australia. We seem to adopt a bit of both yet differ with some things entirely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hugs Lindy xx
Wish someone would do one comparing Australia with UK and US...hint, hint. ;)

As a fan of American TV shows (The West Wing is my all-time favourite) and novels by John Grisham and Jeffery Deaver, I knew most of these. I had to look up cilantro for a recipe though. We call it coriander on this side of the Pond.

LOL Rosie...Ami and I had the confusion when I was trying to share a recipe with her. Here in the US, the leaves and stalks of the plant are referred to as "cilantro," while the seeds are referred to as "coriander." :)

Yep quite interesting isn't it? I know I discovered many differences after being with my Scotsman!
ReplyDeleteLOL Minelle...I'm sure you have discovered more than what are listed here. ;)

You're welcome, Red...some of these I can see how they came about but some...have to wonder how we got from the word on one side of the pond to the other. ;)
