Wondering how many of you have ever been on or at least heard about a “Penny Date.” Was chatting with a man the other day about just getting up, picking a direction and just enjoying wherever the wind blows…stopping at whatever looks interesting. That led me to remember the penny dates that Matthew introduced me to. So much fun!
Would enjoy hearing your experience if any of you have gone on a penny date.
Of course, knowing this crew, I’m sure that those of you who have not currently been on a penny date, soon will be. Hope to hear your experiences. 
Penny Date Rules:
1. Get dressed to go out.
2. Make sure you have a penny.
3. One partner chooses a number between 10 and 20.
a. This will be the number of times you flip the penny.
b. Might need more or less depending on where you live.
c. Of course, you can pick any number your prefer.
4. Begin after you pull out of the driveway and get to the first intersection.
a. Heads = right turn
b. Tails = left turn
5. At each intersection, flip the penny and turn in that direction.
6. After you get to the last number, stop and look around.
7. This will be where you have your date.

Hmmm, Cat, I've never heard of this concept before. Very creative! This could be very interesting and lead us straight back home if we got enough heads or tails in a row! Lol! I'll ask Hoss if he's game and let you know. Now you've got me thinking and wondering....

It's a lot of fun, Baker. Works really well when you have a last minute block of time. Guess you could end up driving around the block a few times if you were very unlucky. LOL As I told Mere...if people try this and email their results, I will combine them into a post with one of my dates with Matthew. :)

If getting dressed means more than sweats and the like, I am all for the generations under me doing it. When I was 20, an evening date meant dress slacks, pressed shirts and leather shoes. Still does.
ReplyDeleteAwww Bogey...getting dressed is whatever you want to wear. If you're both dressed casual, then you look for a casual place to go. Maybe it's a drive-thru to pickup dinner and head to a close by park for a picnic. Try it...you might like it. :)

It does sound interesting. Very occasionally, Sam has told me to be dressed up and waiting by a certain time. It adds a little excitement to a date.

THis is new to me - imagine that at my age. Not sure if I'll ever try it but I bet it could be lots of fun.

Hahaha...Leave it to you to pick up on that, Jan. I have been chatting with some different men and have met a few but haven't "clicked" with anyone yet. Now...think you and John should go on a Penny date and then email me the results so I can post them along with any others that respond. :)
