Dogs Welcome

I received the following in an email from a friend.  It made me smile and cry and the same time.

This is dedicated to all of you who have or have lost pets.

Especially dedicated to my cousin Katie over at This Whole Thing!

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote:
I would very much like to bring my dog with me.
He is well-groomed and very well behaved.
Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote:
SIR: "I've been operating this hotel for many years.
In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or steal pictures off the walls or use them as a coloring book.
I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.
Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel.
And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

  3. Awww. While I am trying to figure out where the money is coming from for a puppy, I am getting ready to say good bye to two old friends. One is blind, incontinent and very thin. The other is is constant pain. I love my puppies. It is hard to watch them suffer but it is hard to let them go.

    Thanks for the post.

    1. You're welcome Rose...I do understand having to make the decision to release several of my babies from their suffering...it's not easy either way. Sending lots of prayers and healing energy for your babies and lots of prayers and positive energy for the money for your new pup.

  4. What a sweet post. I have pets now and I have lost pets along the way. Each has such a special place in my heart. Just reading this brought tears to my eyes, as I thought of our past pets. Goodness - it's amazing how they work their way into our hearts!

    1. Thank you Sarah. It is amazing how our pets work their way into our hearts and become members of our family in a very short period of time. I still tear up thinking of some of my babies who have passed.

  5. Cat, this is so beautiful, made me laugh and cry at the same too. I too thought of my beautiful husky boys and the cats that have crossed the rainbow bridge. I am also preparing for my sweet girl to make that journey when she is ready and hoping she will give us the gift of more time.

  6. Now you've gotten us all crying buckets, Cat! They are all so sweet and so true. I am so glad we had the honour of knowing the love of animals in our lives. My life would certainly never have been the same without dogs, cats and horses in it.

    1. Dang Ami...didn't mean to make everyone cry...especially buckets! I agree with you...I have been so blessed with the animals I have had in my life and it would have been much more empty without them.

  7. I type this with grateful and loving tears in my eyes, Cousin Cat!!! I'm sitting here in the kitchen with my two dogs and my kitty. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are very kind and sweet! I loved it!!! :)

The story was wonderful. I had not seen that before, but so true! And the posters are awesome. I love the one with the lab that has the frog on his head and pooped on the vets yard. LOL!

I am treasuring every last moment with our yellow lab. She has been a wonderful dog and is still able to enjoy being loved by us at the moment. We know what to look for with her pathology now. She is comfortable today so far, and that is most important to me.

Thank you again, Cousin Cat A for Angel! (Don't let it go to your head!!! LOLOL!). Seriously, just thanks. Many hugs,

    <3 K.T.

    1. Hey Cousin Katie...you are so very welcome...I am so happy that this brought you some comfort and joy.

The one that pooped in the vets yard just cracked me up...take that! LOL

All we can do with each of our family members...2 or 4 legged...is simply treasure each minute we have with them. She will let you know when it's time for you to let her go.

A for Angel...sorry...just had to laugh...that definitely will not go to my head. :D

Sending lots of prayers and healing energy.

  8. Such a sweet thing to do. We love our pets and yet they are so short with us, or so it seems.
Loved the story about the hotel owner! And not-seriously where do you find a Cat that puts dogs on her blog?

Not a tear in my eye but a big smile on my face, Angel,

    Han

    1. Happy you enjoyed it Han...the story regarding the hotel owner was so funny wasn't it. It does hurt when our four legged family members leave us...and it is always too soon!

  9. Well Damn, that did make me cry. We have a 13 year old black lab, a gift to me from Musicman. He is so sick and can hardly get around any more. He can't see, can't hear and has become incontinent. We now we should have him put down, but just can't bring ourselves to do it.

  10. Oh Cat... I had a baby, her name was Missy and she was the most amazing baby. I loved her with my whole heart. I lost her three years ago. It wasn't until 6 months ago that I found I was willing to let another baby into my heart. Our furry friends are so very, very special..
