  2. I am literally the meanest mom in the world ( seriously..I don't let much slide).. just like my Mom was...and there is never a shortage of neighbourhood little people in my house....just like when it was growing up. Perhaps we are doing something wrong?

    2. Think society raising the "not my fault" generation are the wrong ones Willie. Just keep being a 'mean mom'. ;)

  3. I was/am a kind squishy Mum, Ian was, and continues to be, mean. He had/has a standard of behaviour and they knew/know it. I was very wishy washy and kind, but then - his iron hand allowed me to be that way. The older kids laugh about it now, but they didn't mess with their father. The younger daughter, has it a little easier, but when Dad speaks, she listens and there is no back lip - she hands over the iPhone or laptop without a comment, if her Dad steps in - Thank Gawd!

    1. Hey lucky Lillie - The trouble with the ex started when my oldest was in his early teens so I had to step up and be 'mean mom'. Kudos to Ian - not mean, simply fair but strict. ;)

    1. Hey Sara, welcome back to blog land. My opinion? Very smart lady. Hopefully the son will never forget this lesson.
