One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 4 1/2 years old.
Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of "tea," which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was "just the cutest thing!"
My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watched him drink it up.
Then she says, (as only a mother would know…)
"Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"
I know this is an oldie but it cracks me up every time I read it.
ROFLMBO
OMGosh! That's hilarious! Thanks Cat!

Once a mother.....you know, Cat as I was reading- I couldn't help but think....where is that little stinker getting the water? Willie, you and I think alike. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute.....
I have to tell you, I read your last entry about the Parrot to Ian while he finished his supper and he had quite a laugh - tears could be seen forming - he LOVES a good parrot joke.

ReplyDeleteThanks again Cat :D
:D Callie, you're welcome, happy you enjoyed it!
DeleteYou know I didn't realize where this was going and even though I've heard it before it still made me chuckle when it came to the end.
ReplyDeleteThis one always gives me a giggle Sunny. I can just imagine the look the husband's face when he realizes he's been drinking 'toilet water tea' all afternoon and praising it. LOL
DeleteHILARIOUS...especially since just today we were putting together Gracie's nursery...complete with her Strawberry Shortcake Tea Set....bwhahhhha!
ReplyDelete~Lucy
ROFL Lucy - I hope for Ryan's sake that by the time Gracie is old enough to pull something like this, you have forgotten and don't put her up to doing it. ;)
DeleteWho little ol' me??? Never.....not that he will ever know anyway ;)
DeleteLOL Lucy - just gave yourself away with "...not that he will ever know anyway." didn't ya. ;)
DeleteEeeewww!!! So funny though! lol
ReplyDeleteLOL Grace. Happy you enjoyed it. ;)
DeleteFunny! It made me think of the time my 18 month old son locked himself in the bathroom and I just knew he would stick his head in the toilet. I was not worried about the water, obviously the safety. After the....ahem.... firemen left, I felt his nice wet head asking him why his hair was wet? No need for guessing, I was right on the money with the knowledge of toilet wet head!
ReplyDeleteROFLMBO Minelle! And then into the bathtub he went - probably with a big smile on his face - the fireman came to his house!
DeleteAfter my youngest locked himself in the bathroom when he was about 3 years old, I got one of those keys that will open bathroom doors and stuck it on the molding ledge above the door so I wouldn't have to go through that ever again.
Well that's what the firemen did! Lol
DeleteHilarious!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh Cat!
You're very welcome Bea. Glad you enjoyed it! ;)
DeleteOMG that was great Cat!!
ReplyDeleteDon't tell Steven, but I enjoyed it when the kids did things like this to him. ;)
Emma
Happy you enjoyed it Emma. LOL My lips are zipped, I won't tell Steven a thing! Ummm...unless he asks. ;)
DeleteLOL Cat, I'm obviously not as smart as some of the others as I didn't see where it was going Lol
ReplyDeleteLOl Emma, That's bad :)
Hugs
Roz
Happy you enjoyed it Roz - when I received a long time ago, I didn't see where it was going either. ;)
DeleteHugs and Blessings,
Cat
All you Ladies don't understand the joys of being a father to a 4 year old girl.
ReplyDeleteOff course he knew where she got the water! So what? His daughter was enjoying herself. That's enough reason for him to enjoy his tea.
You are an awesome father, Bas. I gotta tell ya, as much as I love my kids and grands, I could not drink toilet water to make them happy. :)
DeleteHugs and Blessings,
Cat
Heh, funny! I can remember my mother accusing me of getting the water from the toilet. I took her by the hand and showed her the bathroom that I had mostly destroyed in order to build myself a ladder to the sink. She wasn't sure whether to apologize or be proud so instead she made real tea and we invited my teddy bear to come enjoy it with us.
ReplyDeleteLOL Susie. Thank you for sharing such a cute story. What a great mother! That has to be an awesome memory for you. :)
DeleteBlessings,
Cat
OMG!!!! That is too funny. Your dad was lucky that you didn't use the bleach drop-ins!
ReplyDeleteLOL Ana - didn't even think about that!
